Black and Bloom hits the press

Black and Bloom’s second field team to hit the ice this year were proud to host the Science Editor of the BBC, David Shukman, and his team, for a night on the ice.

David was there to learn about the science behind Black and Bloom and to experience first hand how work and general living on the ice is performed. We think he was especially impressed by our toilet facilities!!

We were really happy to see our work reported on both the 6 and 10 o’clock national BBC news programmes, the BBC website, and the World Today programme on BBC Radio 4. It serves to highlight just how important and timely our research is!

Hats off to our great second field team comprising Andrew Tedstone, Joe Cook, Stefan Hoffer, Tom Gribbin and our fearless leader Martyn Tranter, for their impressive interviews with the BBC team.

If you haven’t seen the reports yet, follow the links below to see David’s excellent description of the Black and Bloom project, and to get some glimpses into life on the ice.
